The origin of Flexi-stone began in the era of the 90’s.
Gernot Ehrlich produced table fountains and tables from regular slate plates in the USA.
The slate boards were bounded with epoxy resin on MDF boards. Flexi-stone was discovered when breaking down one of the slate boards: A thin layer of slate remained on the glued MDF boards.
Gernot Ehrlich immediately saw the potential for an extraordinary product and experimented with various carrier materials, until finally he came up with a solution. Flexi-stone’s serial production however started much later.
